The History of Spank Island

Community • Memory • Legacy

Remembering the original Spank Island and the community history that helped shape its identity.

Before Spank Island

Part of the history connected with Spank Island began on the Second Life region known as RLD—Romance, Love and Discipline. RLD was a community venue where residents gathered, formed friendships, and shared experiences.

A parcel associated with this history was originally located on the RLD region. RLD and Spank Island were separate venues, and Spank Island was never an official successor to RLD.

The Closing of RLD

RLD marked the end of its community venue with a ceremonial burning. The closing photograph was taken on March 6, 2021, preserving an important moment in the community's history.

The Move to Spank Island

After RLD closed, the parcel formerly located on the RLD region was moved to Spank Island. That move created a personal historical connection between the two venues while allowing Spank Island to develop its own identity.

The memories, friendships, and experiences associated with the earlier parcel became part of the larger story carried forward at Spank Island.

The Original Spank Island

The original Spank Island later became a venue with its own character, community, and history. Although that Second Life location is now closed, its story remains an important part of the SpankIsland identity.

This historical record will continue to grow as photographs, stories, dates, and memories from the original venue are gathered and preserved.

Continuing the Story

Today, SpankIsland.com preserves that legacy while also documenting active locations, creative projects, photography, and new experiences throughout virtual worlds.
